Messed up my habit tracker for 3 months straight
I accidentally put the dates in the wrong column on my weekly spread and didn't catch it until I went back to review my progress. Has anyone else found a good way to double check your layouts before you start filling them in?

Ugh I've done that before, now I always do a quick scan of my headers before I start writing anything.

Last week I put my coffee consumption under "sleep quality" and spent three days wondering why my data looked like I was having insomnia. Turned out I was just logging my caffeine intake in the wrong spot. Another time I labeled a whole week's worth of meals under "mood" and ended up with a spreadsheet that suggested I was emotionally tied to tuna sandwiches. So yeah, chaos can give you weird insights, but mostly it just gives me a headache and a new way to mess up next time.

That seems like a lot of extra work honestly. The mistakes are kind of part of the learning process, right? Like @lee72 mentioned double checking headers but that feels like overkill to me. I've made plenty of date errors and found interesting patterns in the wrong columns. One time I accidentally tracked my water intake under "exercise" and realized I was drinking way more on days I worked out. A simple glance at the layout before you start writing might not catch everything either since you're already in the zone. Your mileage may vary but sometimes chaos gives you weird insights.
