Lost my whole week when I forgot the future log exists
I found the right answer with an index. But only after 6 months of ignoring it. My notebook fell apart because I kept shoving random lists in random places. Last Tuesday I needed a grocery list, a bill reminder, and a blog idea all at once. Found zero of them. Spent an hour flipping pages and got nothing. So now I number every page and add to the index as I go. Takes 10 seconds and saves so much hunting. Does anyone else skip the index or is it just me?

Skipping the index feels fine until the day you actually need something fast. My fix was adding a tiny table of contents on the last page, written backward so it does not mess with my normal notes. Takes a few seconds and turns a ten minute search into a ten second glance.
