Just hit my 500th day in a row, the streak number I never planned for

I started my bullet journal back in March 2022 mostly to track work tasks, but this morning I flipped back and counted the daily logs. 500 consecutive days, no gaps, even through a horrible flu week in November and that chaotic move to a new apartment in July. I honestly thought I'd quit by like day 37, but the simple act of setting up each morning page, just 5 minutes with coffee, kept me going. The number surprised me because I never set a goal or used a tracker, it just happened through habit. Has anyone else hit a milestone they didn't intentionally aim for, and did it change how you use your journal afterwards?

Honestly, the streak itself is still just a number to me, but what changed is how I view the daily page. It used to be a task list, now it's more of a brain dump, just a spot to land whatever's in my head that morning. But I gotta call you out on the "no gaps" thing, man. You said no gaps, but then you mentioned that flu week and the move, so unless you literally wrote a single line those days, I doubt it was a full page. A quick "sick, can't focus" or "packing boxes" still counts as a log for me, but if you skipped a whole day and backfilled it later, that's not a real streak. Not trying to be a jerk, it's just that the whole point of a daily log is the daily part, and the tiny imperfect days are the ones that actually make the habit stick. Either way, 500 is solid, but maybe be honest with yourself about what those two weeks actually looked like.
