I finally tried a dot grid notebook after using only lined paper for a year

I kept using a basic lined notebook from the office supply store because it was cheap, but my layouts were always messy and hard to read. Last month I switched to a Leuchtturm1917 dot grid journal, and the difference is huge. The dots give me perfect guides for straight lines and spacing without being as distracting as full grid lines. Has anyone else found a specific notebook that made their bullet journal work much better?

My buddy swore by cheap composition books until his sketches looked like a toddler's work. He grabbed a Rhodia dot pad on a whim and suddenly his project notes became clean and organized. The subtle guides just work better for his brain.

Switched to dot grid last year and my messy handwriting finally became readable.

Honestly? Dot grid feels like training wheels for adults. My best ideas always come on blank paper where there's nothing to box me in. Tried a dot pad once and spent more time lining up letters than actually writing. Sometimes messy handwriting just means you're thinking faster than your hand can move.
