Found out my habit tracker is actually wrong - checked my own math

I was flipping through my bullet journal last night (trying to see if I actually stuck with my water goal for March) and noticed something weird. My habit tracker said I drank 8 glasses of water on 22 days, but when I counted my tallies from my actual daily logs? It was only 18. I literally sat there and recounted three times because I was so sure the tracker was right. Turns out I had been filling in the tracker from memory at the end of the week instead of checking my real notes. I found a Reddit post in a bujo tips thread that said this happens to like 60% of people who use monthly habit trackers because we just guess instead of verifying. Has anyone else caught their own bullet journal lying to them like this? I feel like I need to redo my whole tracker system now.

Hang on, I gotta push back on this a little. I actually think your tracker wasn't lying to you, you were just using it wrong. If you're going to fill it in from memory at the end of the week, that's not the tracker's fault, that's just you taking a shortcut. The whole point of a monthly tracker is to give you a quick visual, not to be a perfect record. I mean, 22 out of 18 days is still pretty close, it's not like you were way off.
