Found my first bullet journal from 2017 in a moving box

It was a cheap grid notebook from the drugstore, and the whole thing was just a messy daily log with a few half-finished trackers. I remember that week in October because I wrote 'good day' for three days straight, which was rare back then. The only decoration was a coffee stain on the Tuesday page. It's funny how simple it was compared to my current setup with its fancy pens and spreads. Does anyone else feel a bit silly looking at their old, basic journals?

Wait, you kept a notebook with a coffee stain for seven years? I would have thrown that out the second it happened, my brain could not handle that.

Does the coffee stain count as the first decorative washi tape?

Honestly, I've tried to lean into coffee stains before and it never works. They just look like a mess, not a design. What I do now is keep a roll of plain brown kraft tape in my desk drawer. If I spill on a notebook cover, I'll tear a piece of that tape and patch right over it. It covers the stain completely and looks like it was meant to be there, like a rustic patch. Way better than a weird, splotchy stain trying to pass as art.
