Bought a $65 'premium' journal and regretted it every single day
I saw this fancy leather bullet journal at a shop in Austin last month, $65 because it had a built-in pen loop and thick paper. Turns out the paper bleeds worse than my $4 notebook from Target, and the pen loop snapped after two weeks of normal use. I get that people want nice tools, but isn't the whole point of bullet journaling that it's simple and cheap? Who else got burned by an overpriced journal and went back to basics, or do you think fancy gear is worth it?

... and honestly that's exactly what happened to me with a $40 one a few years back. The spine cracked on day three and the pages started falling out, while my $10 basic one from the drugstore lasted me a whole year of daily use. I finally just taped the fancy one shut for scrap paper and went back to the cheap spiral, haven't looked at the pricey stuff since. Sometimes the "premium" tag just means you're paying for the name, not the actual quality, and that's a lesson I only had to learn once.

All that money and you still got a worse notebook than the cheap one, that's a lesson in itself. But honestly, it's a notebook, not a mortgage.
