Appreciation post: Found a coffee shop in Denver that finally got me to ditch my monthly planner
I was in Denver last month and this tiny place had a bulletin board full of scrappy, hand-drawn logs that made me realize my pretty pre-printed planner was just hiding all the chaos instead of helping me sort it out, so has anyone else had a random spot totally flip how you use your journal?

Man, thats exactly it. @lindab49 put it better than I could - we get sold on these pretty systems but they just make us feel bad for being human. So what was it about those scrappy hand-drawn logs that finally clicked for you, was it the lack of fancy grids or just seeing someone else's actual mess laid out honest?

Right there with you. Perfect systems just make you feel broken.

Funny how a grubby bulletin board can do more than a store-bought system ever could. I've always found that perfect looking planners make you feel like a failure when you can't keep them neat, so you just stop using them altogether. Maybe the real trick is embracing the mess and treating your journal like a crime scene board instead of a museum exhibit. Sounds like that coffee shop accidentally taught you what Marie Kondo never could - let your chaos breathe a little and it might actually make sense.
