Used to buy those pre-cut veggie trays for $12. Now I just grab a whole cabbage and a couple carrots for under $3.

Totally felt that "genius" moment too lol. I started doing the same with bell peppers and the savings are wild.

Yeah the pre-cut veggie tray thing... I used to fall for that all the time. It's just cabbage and carrots like you said, maybe some broccoli. Felt like a genius the first time I bought a whole head of celery and just chopped it myself... saved so much.

The real kicker is how much plastic waste those trays create. You pay extra just to throw away a big clamshell container. Chopping your own stuff cuts down on trash and saves money.
