Took me 3 hours just to find cheap chicken thighs at the right price

I spent like three hours last week going between three different grocery stores trying to find chicken thighs under $2 a pound. One store had them for $3.50, another was sold out, and the third had a limit of two packs per person. I finally got some at a local market I never go to, but it took forever. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon just hunting for one ingredient?
