The church potluck rule that changed my leftover game forever
I was at my aunt's church potluck last Sunday in Springfield and noticed every dish had a tiny sign with the recipe name and a rough cost per serving, like $1.25 for the baked ziti. Turns out the organizer started doing this after a bad year of folks bringing fancy stuff nobody could afford to copy. Now I do the same thing at home with my meal prep, I jot the per serving price right on the Tupperware lid. It sounds silly but seeing that a big pot of lentil soup costs me 80 cents a bowl makes me way more willing to eat it for the 4th day in a row. Anyone else started labeling costs on leftovers, or am I just turning into my aunt? Has anyone tried a similar trick with their own weekly cooking?
