My $3 bag of lentils turned into 8 meals and I still have leftovers
I bought a 2lb bag of dried lentils for like $3.50 at Aldi last Tuesday because I was broke. Cooked up a batch with some onion and garlic powder, and somehow it stretched into lunches for the whole week. The crazy part is the bag barely looks empty after 8 bowls of lentil soup. Has anyone else had a single ingredient just keep giving like this?

Oh man, I gotta push back on this one hard. Lentils are fine in a pinch, but calling them a miracle ingredient is a stretch. I mean, sure, they fill you up, but they're basically just flavorless mush unless you drown them in spices and broth. And all that fiber? Yeah, good luck if you have to be anywhere near other people after eating them. Plus, the texture gets old real fast. By day three of lentil soup I'd be ready to throw the rest in the trash. You say 8 meals, but I bet you were miserable by meal 4. I'd rather just skip lunch and eat a real dinner than eat the same sad brown bowl all week.

Wait, did I miss something? You actually convinced me, I never thought of it that way.

Day 3 of lentil soup is where it all falls apart, I feel you. I tried that whole "batch cook on Sunday" thing once and by Wednesday I was staring at the container like it was a punishment. The texture thing is real too, it goes from okay to baby food real quick no matter how much cumin you throw in. Honestly I'd rather just eat a big sandwich and call it a day than pretend I'm loving a bowl of beige paste for the fourth time in a row.
