Just gave up on expensive spice blends for good
I used to buy those little jars of pre mixed seasoning for $5 each at the grocery store. Then my neighbor told me she makes her own taco seasoning for pennies using stuff she already has like cumin, chili powder, and garlic powder. I tried it last week and honestly it tastes better than the store bought stuff. Now I see how much money I was throwing away on fancy labels. Does anyone have a good recipe for an all purpose seasoning blend that works with chicken and vegetables?

Oh man, I feel this so hard. I used to be the same way with those little jars until I realized I was basically paying for a label and some cumin. For an all purpose blend, I swear by equal parts garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and dried oregano with a little black pepper. It works on chicken, broccoli, potatoes, you name it. Just toss your stuff in oil and sprinkle that on before cooking. The key is to go easy on the salt at first and add more after cooking so you don't overshoot it.

Girl same here, once I started mixing my own blends I couldn't believe how easy and cheap it is. Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a pinch of cayenne works for almost everything I cook.

My friend Sarah tried that exact blend on roasted veggies last week and somehow managed to get it all over her white shirt. She said it still tasted good though, even if she looked like she got attacked by a spice cabinet.
