Honestly shocked I spent less than $20 on groceries this week
Tbh, I finally committed to using up every single thing in my pantry and freezer before buying more. Made a huge pot of chili with some freezer-burned ground turkey and a can of beans I forgot about. Has anyone else hit a crazy low number like that?

That's a solid win. I'm curious, did you find that the chili actually tasted better knowing it was basically free? I've had that happen where a meal feels more satisfying because I used up stuff that was just taking up space.

How low did you go? I did $15 once by making soup from old veggies and rice.

Man, that's the way to do it. @lopez.karen has the right idea with that soup. My best cheap week was around $12, and it was all about eggs and dried beans. You just have to ignore any recipe and use what you already have, even if it seems weird. A can of tomatoes, some old oatmeal, and a lone onion can turn into a meal if you stop worrying about it being perfect. The flavor comes from knowing you didn't waste a thing.
