Finally figured out why my rice was always mushy after 6 months of guessing
Turns out I was using way too much water... like a 3:1 ratio instead of 2:1. Took me half a year to count out that extra cup and now it actually fluffs up instead of turning into paste. Has anyone else had a basic recipe fail on them for way longer than it should have?

3:1 makes better rice and you're all wrong.

Oh wow... you really went there with the 3:1 ratio huh? I gotta ask though... are you actually measuring by volume or by weight? Because that makes a huge difference and people always leave that part out. I tried 3:1 once and ended up with mushy sticky disaster rice that was basically porridge. Maybe my pot sucks or I'm not rinsing enough times but I swear every batch needs a different amount of water depending on the rice age and how humid it is outside. So like... what kind of rice are you using exactly? Because I need specifics or I'm not buying it.
