Update: I laid 1,000 brick in one day at a job in Tulsa and my hands paid for it
I hit 1,000 brick in a single day last Tuesday on a house in Tulsa, which I never thought I would pull off. My foreman bet me 50 bucks I couldn't do it and I wasn't about to back down, so I started at 6am and just kept the mud coming. Thing is, around brick 700 my wrists started locking up and I had to switch to my lighter trowel to keep going. I finished right at 4:30 but could barely grip my coffee the next morning. Anyone else got a trick for keeping your hands from stiffening up after a big push like that?
1,000 brick in a day is straight up beast mode, congrats on taking your foreman's 50 bucks. I did 800 on a commercial job a few years back and by the end my fingers were curled up like claws, couldnt even open a water bottle. What saved me was soaking my hands in ice water for 10 min then switching to hot water, back and forth a couple times, gets the blood moving again. Also stretch your fingers and forearms out before you even start, not after, that part makes a huge diff. And drink way more water than you think you need, the mud sucks it right out of you.
