My uncle told me to always wet my bricks in the summer heat

He said it stops the mortar from drying too fast and cracking. I tried it on a patio job in Phoenix last July, and it worked like a charm. The joints stayed solid while my buddy's wall across town had hairline cracks in a week. Anyone else have a simple trick for hot weather work?

Saw my buddy skip that step on a fence rebuild. His whole first course was dust by noon. Good call from @finleyf88 about the spray bottle too.

Oh man, that's such a solid tip. I always hose down my blocks before I lay them in the heat, and it makes a huge difference. I even keep a spray bottle handy to mist the fresh joints a couple times before I leave the site.
