I was sure those laser level brackets were just another gimmick to buy, but after borrowing one from a guy on a job in Boise, my lines were perfect for a whole 50-foot run.

Has anyone else had a tool they swore was junk completely prove them wrong on a specific project?

Oh man, my buddy was the same way about those oscillating multi-tools. Called them a useless fad for years. Then he had to cut a perfect notch in a floor joist without damaging the plumbing right behind it, and now he owns three of the things.

Honestly @violatorres, that's a perfect example of why those tools are so good. Tbh, the key is they're not for big demo jobs, they're for super precise cuts in tight spots. Once you need to trim a door casing without messing up the floor, you get it.

Exactly! It's all about the right tool for the job. Like @violatorres said, you don't know you need one until you're in that exact spot where nothing else fits. I used to think they were just for small stuff, but they save so much time on tricky cuts. Once you've used one to carefully cut out a single piece of trim without wrecking the wall, you're sold. They're a lifesaver for clean work.
