I thought that 'masonry laser level' was just a gimmick until my foreman made me use one on a chimney rebuild in Boise.

See that happen all the time with new tools. People write them off until they actually try them under pressure. What was the hardest part of the job before the laser?

Funny how that works... it's like people need to feel the old pain to really get why a new thing matters. The hardest part was probably just the sheer time and mess of the old way, you know? Makes you see how much we put up with just because it's what we're used to. You see this with software updates too, everyone complains until they can't go back. That friction to change is everywhere, not just tools.

Wait you did that whole job without a laser? How did you even mark the cuts, just eyeball it and hope? That sounds like a total nightmare, lmao.
