I thought hot-asphalt work was just for the old timers until I tried it last month

Always figured torch-down roofing was the way to go for flat jobs. But a guy named Dave on a site in Portland talked me into trying a hot mop on a small 12x12 shed roof and I gotta say the bond is WAY stronger than I expected. The smell is rough but the finish is solid. Has anyone else here switched methods after years of doing it one way?

Man that smell really does stick with you for days... glad to hear it worked out though, always good to find something that holds better.

Oh man, I read somewhere that hot asphalt actually chemically bonds with the substrate instead of just sticking on top like torch-down, makes sense why it holds so good. @walker.max has a point about the smell though, my buddy couldn't get it out of his clothes for like a week lmao.
