That one comment about my Makita setup made me rethink everything

I showed off my all Makita collection on a job site last spring and this old timer said 'you're just paying for the teal paint, switch to Milwaukee for real torque'. So I borrowed his Fuel 18v impact for a weekend of deck building and honestly it did rip through those 6 inch lag bolts way faster than mine. Has anyone else switched brands after hearing one solid piece of criticism like that?

Did you try swapping out just the impact driver first or did you go all in on a full switch? I ended up keeping my drill but grabbing a used Milwaukee impact off Craigslist to test the waters...
