That $180 espresso machine grinder combo turned out to be a paperweight

Got a combo unit last March because the reviews were glowing and I figured one machine could do both jobs. The grinder started jamming on medium roast beans after maybe 40 uses, and the shot pulls went uneven right after that. Took it apart, cleaned the burrs twice, even watched a tear down video from some guy in Portland. Customer service said the grinder is not serviceable and offered me 15% off a new one. I could have bought a separate $90 hand grinder and a used $100 machine for the same money. Has anyone else gotten burned by the all in one appliance shortcut?
