Switched from Nike to Brooks after a foot injury last spring
I ran in Nike Pegasus for like 8 years straight, no issues. Then I got a plantar fasciitis flare up in May and my podiatrist in Chicago told me to try Brooks Ghost. What brand made you switch after a specific injury or problem?

You went from a shoe that probably felt like flying to one that feels like walking on memory foam pillows, right? I switched to Hoka because my knees started screaming at me after every run, but now I feel like I'm running in moon boots and my ankles keep wobbling. I guess we don't fix problems, we just trade them for new ones.

Piper Burns, moon boots? That's wild. You went from screaming knees to wobbling ankles, that sounds like a nightmare. How do you even finish a run without twisting something?

Did your ankles actually feel any better or did you just swap one ache for another?

Give the shoes a solid 100 miles before you judge them. That broken in feeling is real with Brooks, they soften up and mold to your foot after a bit. The Ghost is a totally different drop height than the Pegasus, so your calves and achilles have to adjust, that can feel weird for the first few weeks. Plantar fasciitis is a sneaky bastard though, it's not just about the shoe, it's also about stretching your feet and calves every single day. Ngl, I still think the biggest fix for me was rolling my foot on a frozen water bottle after each run. So don't blame the shoe if your ankle wobbles, your foot might just be weak from being in a cast or something.
