Rant: My friend swore by Old Navy jeans for years - then hers ripped in the grocery store aisle last Saturday

We were at the Aldi on 5th Street when her jeans just gave out at the seam right by the eggs. She literally had to waddle to the car holding her bag like a shield. Has anyone else had a loyalty moment blow up in public like that?

So did she actually buy another pair after that or is she done with Old Navy for good? I had a similar thing happen with some jeans from Target a few years back, split right down the back seam while I was bending over to grab a bag of dog food. Never bought their jeans again after that embarrassment.

Huh, I used to be pretty loyal to Old Navy jeans myself, honestly thought they were fine for everyday wear. But after seeing your friend's situation, I changed my mind about trusting basic denim for real life. My old ones always seemed okay until I realized they got thin after a few washes, no way they'd survive an Aldi trip. I guess sometimes you don't notice the slow wear until it's too late and you're holding your pants together by the deli section.
