PSA: My barber talked me into trying a different clipper brand after 8 years
I was at my usual spot in Brooklyn last week, and my barber Marcus just flat out told me my Andis clippers were holding me back. He said the motor wears down faster than you think, especially on thick hair like mine. He let me borrow his Wahl Seniors for a cut and honestly I felt the difference in the vibration and how clean it went through. I had no idea brand loyalty could blind you to something that simple after so many years with the same tool. Has anyone else had a pro change your mind about a brand you trusted for years?

Oh man, that magnetic vs pivot thing is a total game changer once you get it. I stuck with my old clippers for way too long too until my barber finally handed me a pair to test myself. Now I just ask pros what they actually use before buying anything.

Wait, did you see that barber on YouTube breaking down the motor types? He said magnetic motors lose torque faster which explains why my old Andis felt weak over time.

Ngl I saw some barber on YouTube explain how different clipper brands actually have different motor types that change how they perform over time. The way he broke down magnetic vs pivot motors was pretty eye opening.
