PSA: my $80 espresso machine died after 2 months, found a weird fix

The pump on my Breville stopped pushing water last Tuesday, turns out the rubber gasket under the portafilter had shifted. I popped it back in with a butter knife and it's been fine since, anyone else had a simple fix save a big repair bill?

Butter knife fix and it's been fine for a week? That's not really a fix, that's just the gasket sitting crooked. Those things pop out of place all the time, it's not like the machine is broken. Wait until you have to descale it or the pump actually fails, then you'll be talking about a real repair bill. An $80 machine is basically disposable anyway, most people just toss them after a year or two. Just saying, don't celebrate a loose rubber ring like you saved hundreds of dollars.
