My trip to that big box store in Phoenix made me question DeWalt forever

I was at Home Depot on 7th Street last Saturday grabbing a new drill bit and watched three guys returning DeWalt impacts because the chucks kept slipping. The return desk guy told me they see way more DeWalt returns than Milwaukee or Makita, especially on the cordless stuff. Is DeWalt just riding on their old reputation from 20 years ago, or did I just catch a bad day?

Switched to Milwaukee after my impacts kept overheating on a framing job. The RedLithium stuff held up better for me. DeWalt's fine for lighter work but mine couldn't handle the daily abuse. Had three guys on my crew swap over the same week. Not saying Milwaukee is perfect but it worked for us. Sometimes you just gotta cut your losses and move on.
