My Stanley thermos failed after 8 years of faithful service

I've been carrying a Stanley thermos to work for 8 years straight, morning commutes and all. Last Tuesday I filled it with coffee at 5am and by lunch it was barely warm. I took it apart and the vacuum seal had popped loose. Anyone else have a long running brand let them down after years of reliability?

Mine died at 7 years, so you're doing better than me.

Is it really that big of a deal? You got eight years out of a thermos, that's pretty good honestly. @the_ryan's only got seven out of his, so you're still winning.

Hmm, I get where you're coming from @kai_butler83 but I think it really depends on what you expect from a thermos. Eight years is decent but not great if it stopped keeping things hot after like three or four. My old Zojirushi lasted almost 12 years before the lid seal gave out, and it still held temp perfectly up until then. A thermos that dies completely at 7 or 8 years feels like it quit too soon, especially with today's manufacturing.
