My neighbor's ancient lawnmower made me rethink my whole tool brand thing
I was borrowing his 20 year old Craftsman mower last weekend because mine died again. He said he's only ever changed the oil and sharpened the blade. My newer, fancier brand mower has been in the shop three times in two years. It hit me that I was just buying the name and the ads, not the actual reliability. Has anyone else had a simple old tool outlast your new 'upgrade'?

My buddy's dad still uses the same corded drill from the 80s. It looks beat up but it starts every time, unlike my fancy cordless one that's always dead!

My DeWalt cordless from 2012 still holds a charge fine. The new ones just use cheaper batteries that wear out fast. They don't build them like they used to.

Yeah, but @lily_singh2, that corded drill never had a battery to die.
