My go-to blender died mid-smoothie last Saturday morning

I was blending my usual morning mix and the motor just gave out with a loud pop, smelled like burnt plastic. Had to finish chopping the frozen fruit with a knife, which was a mess. Has anyone switched to a different brand after a similar failure?

Got the exact same thing happen to me with a Ninja last year. Smelled like something shorted inside and it just stopped mid chop. Picked up a Vitamix refurb from their website after that and honestly it's been way more solid. It's louder but handles frozen fruit like nothing, never struggled once. The old blender felt like it was working hard all the time, this one just powers through. If you blend a lot of thick stuff with ice or frozen fruit it's worth saving up for something with a stronger motor.

Year, thing is the burning smell probably isn't the motor, it's the shitty plastic coupling stripping out.
