My expensive hiking boots just fell apart after 4 months
I spent $180 on a pair of those boots everyone raves about, the ones with the orange tags. The sole completely separated from the upper last weekend on a trail near Boulder, and I almost rolled my ankle coming down a rocky section. I'm so tired of paying a premium for a name and getting garbage quality. Has anyone else had luck with a specific brand that actually holds up past one season?

Totally agree, I got burned by the same brand with the orange tags. I had a pair that delaminated on a day hike, and when I emailed them they pretty much told me it was my fault for "abusing" them. I switched to Keen and haven't looked back.

Burned by orange tags" is basically my hiking origin story at this point lol. I actually walked right out of mine on a rocky trail and faceplanted in front of a group of Boy Scouts, so that was a humbling experience. Keen saved me too, guess we both learned the expensive way.

Oh man, I feel your PAIN. I bought the same kind with the orange tags and the soles started peeling off after like 3 months of light hiking, not even rugged stuff. I contacted their customer service and they acted like I was crazy for expecting them to last. I switched to a pair of Merrells that I found on clearance for like $80 and they're going on two years now with no issues. Total ripoff when you pay for the hype and get junk.
