Just read that 72% of people who buy a Dyson stick vacuum buy another Dyson within 5 years

I saw that stat in a report from a market research firm called Kantar. It's wild to me because those things are so expensive, but I guess once you're in the ecosystem you just stay. Does that kind of loyalty actually make sense, or are we all just hooked on the brand name?

Honestly, that's the vacuum version of Stockholm syndrome. You spend like 700 bucks on a fancy broom, and then your brain forces you to double down so you don't feel like a total idiot. Ngl, I'm waiting for the report on how many of those people also own the overpriced hair dryer.

Tell me about it, I did the same thing with a stupidly expensive blender.

Isn't this just how all premium brands work now? They sell you on a feeling of quality that makes cheaper options feel broken. Once you pay that much, you're stuck defending the choice forever.
