I used to think Yeti coolers were just overpriced hype for rich people.

My buddy brought one on our fishing trip to Lake Michigan and it kept ice for six days straight in 90 degree heat. Now I'm saving up for one but my wife says our old Coleman works fine. What's a brand that won you over after you tried it?

That "overpriced hype" line is exactly what I thought too. The real win for me wasn't the ice, it was not having a soggy sandwich because everything stayed dry. It changed how I pack for a trip.

Yeah I was totally in the overpriced hype camp too until I tried one. @theasmith is right, keeping stuff dry is the real game changer. My lunch doesn't turn into a wet mess anymore.

Actually, Coleman makes some really good rotomolded coolers now too.
