I used to buy the same running shoes every year until a guy at the gym called them 'ankle breakers'

He saw my old pair and said they were totally worn down on the outside edge. Said I was running in shoes that were forcing my feet to roll. I checked and he was right, the tread was gone on one side after just 4 months. I switched to a different brand that's supposed to be better for overpronation. My knees don't hurt after my 5k runs anymore. Anyone else have a brand they stuck with way too long just out of habit?

Why trust some random gym guy over years of your own experience? That wear pattern could just be how your foot naturally moves, and switching shoes might cause new problems. Sometimes sticking with what works is smarter than chasing a fix for something that isn't broken.

Saw a thing about how uneven wear can mess up your joints over time, actually. Pat's knee story is a good example of that.
