I finally ditched Apple for a Samsung phone 6 months ago
Everyone in my family swore by iPhones. Said it just works. But I got tired of paying $1,000 every 2 years for a phone that slows down on purpose. Switched to a Galaxy A54 for $350 last spring. Battery lasts 2 full days. I can plug in headphones without a dongle. The camera takes better night shots than my old iPhone 12. My brother called me a traitor but I don't care. Saving $650 every upgrade cycle feels way better than having blue text bubbles. Has anyone else made the jump and found a brand that actually treats you better?

That A54 for $350 is what caught my eye - did you notice any real drop in performance compared to the iPhone, or does it feel just as smooth day to day?

Yeah that tiny lag adds up after a while for sure, makes the A54 feel older than it really is.

Honestly I gotta disagree with you on this one lol. The A54 feels noticeably slower in day to day stuff compared to an iPhone, especially when you're switching between apps or scrolling through social media. It's not terrible or anything, but there's a tiny lag that adds up after a while. The iPhone just handles multitasking better without freezing up or dropping frames. For $350 you're getting what you pay for, but smooth isn't the word I'd use.
