Can we talk about that little hardware store on Elm Street that still sharpens blades for free?
I stopped by Ace Hardware downtown last Saturday to grab some paint thinner (just a small can, nothing crazy) and noticed a handwritten sign saying 'free blade sharpening' near the register. The guy behind the counter said they've done it for 30 years, no purchase required. I brought in my dull hedge shears that I've been fighting with for two seasons, and 20 minutes later they came back like new. No receipt, no upselling, just a guy who knew his trade. It made me wonder why I ever bother with big box stores for small stuff. Has anyone else got a local spot that treats customers like neighbors instead of numbers?

That little hardware store on my block does the same thing with lawnmower blades, and they even sharpened my pruners while I waited.

While you waited? That's unheard of nowadays.
