Bought a $40 Kirkland rain jacket on a whim and wore it through 3 Pacific Northwest winters now

I got it at Costco in Portland because I forgot my nice Patagonia on a trip. It's still fully waterproof while my old jacket started delaminating after one season. Anyone else have luck with the cheap stuff over the fancy brands?

Ran mine through a car wash by accident last week, still bone dry inside.

What kind of car wash was it though? The soft cloth ones or the ones with the big spinning brushes that look like a car torture chamber? I've always wondered if the seals on these things are actually built for that kind of pressure because the water jets in the touchless ones get seriously aggressive. Did you check your door seals after or just roll the dice and pray while you watched the suds fly?

My 2019 RAV4 went through one of those spinning brush ones last month, lmao. I was so paranoid I sat there watching the door seals the whole time like a hawk. Water pressure in those touchless washes is seriously no joke, I've seen the sprayers bend license plates before. But yeah, totally dry inside afterward. I think the key is keeping those rubber seals clean and conditioned, my dad always used silicone grease on his and his 20 year old truck never leaked once. Linda you got lucky though, I heard the older models before 2018 had some issues with the weatherstripping shrinking over time.
