Wasted $40 on a 'premium' streaming service for horror movies nobody talks about

Signed up for Shudder last month cause I kept hearing about exclusive horror flicks. Watched like 3 things I actually liked. The rest was either super obscure crap or stuff I could find free on Tubi anyway. Cancelled after the trial period but forgot to turn off auto renew. That $40 is gone now. Anyone else get burned by a niche streaming service that sounded better than it was?

Tubi really does have most of that stuff for free anyway, doesn't it. Shudder had maybe two exclusives I cared about and the rest was just padding with old giallo films nobody asked for. The real kicker is they make you jump through hoops to cancel, like hiding the button three menus deep. Probably just better off sticking with free options and checking the new releases every couple weeks.

Heard one of the Shudder founders did an interview recently where he basically admitted they lost their way trying to be this big horror hub instead of just keeping it simple. Makes sense why you'd get sick of the hidden cancel button game.
