Just realized I've been holding my controller wrong for 15 years
Playing through the new God of War last week, my thumbs started cramping and I looked down to see I had both index fingers on the triggers and middle fingers wrapped around the back, which is apparently backwards. My buddy laughed and showed me the standard claw grip, and now I feel like a fossil who never read the manual. Has anyone else had a gaming habit that turned out to be completely backwards after years of doing it?
Used to grip mine with just my index fingers on the bumpers and nothing on the triggers at all. Told myself for years that's how you were supposed to do it because that's what felt normal. Then I watched a buddy play and he had fingers on both at once, and it hit me that I was basically playing with one hand tied behind my back. Took me a couple weeks to break the habit but now I can't go back, my aim and movement got way better once I fixed it.
