Admitted to my neighbor that my chainlink fence has been leaning for 8 months

Finally told my neighbor Bob last Sunday that the fence between our yards has been sagging toward his garden since April. I kept hoping a big storm or something would fix it or at least knock it over so I'd have to deal with it. He just laughed and said he noticed back in May but figured I had a plan. Now I'm borrowing his post puller this weekend. Anyone else just avoid an obvious fix until someone calls you out?

@nathana48 so you're saying I shoulda just let it lean into Bob's tomatoes for another year? Bob's a good dude but that fence has been slowly sagging like a wet noodle since spring. I guess if you don't mind your fence looking like it's about to give up on life then sure, let it slide. But eventually it's gonna fall over and then you're really stuck with a mess. Not everything needs to be fixed right away but some things just need doing, you know?

You're way overthinking this. A leaning fence adds character and tells the world you have better things to do than obsess over property lines. Bob sounds like a good guy who wasn't even mad, so why rush to fix something that clearly wasn't bothering anyone but you? Letting it sit another year would have saved you a weekend and given your yard that lived-in, low-maintenance vibe.
