I dropped $80 on a fancy soil test kit and it was the best money I ever spent
I always thought my plants just needed more fertilizer when they looked sad. The kit showed my backyard soil was actually way too acidic for my hydrangeas, which explained the weak blooms. I spent about $15 on garden lime to fix the pH, and now they're exploding with color. Has anyone else had a simple test completely turn things around for a specific plant?

That reminds me of the time I tried growing blueberries. Turns out they love the exact opposite soil, super acidic. I was dumping coffee grounds on them for months before I figured it out.

Right? A simple test saved my tomatoes. Mine were all leaves and no fruit, turns out they were drowning in nitrogen.

Forget the soil, test your water... my tap water was so hard it was locking up all the nutrients.
