I always thought houseplants were basically just green decorations
Then I read a study from the University of Reading that said talking to them can actually boost growth by up to 20%. Has anyone else tried this and noticed a real difference?

Honestly, who has the time? My plants get watered and that's the full conversation. Maybe they just like the carbon dioxide from you breathing near them.

Tried talking to my fiddle leaf fig for a solid month. Pretty sure it started leaning away from me to avoid my awkward small talk about the weather. My snake plant just got the silent treatment out of spite, and honestly, it's thriving. I might be the exception that proves the rule, lmao.

It's the same logic as those white noise machines for offices. The study probably just proves plants like a bit of background chatter, not actual conversation. My peace lily perked up when I started leaving the radio on, but it also could have been the new fertilizer. We're all just looking for a reason to feel useful.
