Hit 50 houseplants last week and it finally broke me
I was just counting up my pots for a watering schedule and realized I own 50 individual plants now. That number hit me hard because three years ago I swore I'd never go past 10. My kitchen windowsill is a total jungle and my partner keeps finding new leaves on the floor every morning. Has anyone else crossed a plant count that made you stop and rethink your whole setup?

50 is the line where it stops being a hobby and starts being a hostage situation.

Are you saying 50 plants is the point of no return? That hits close to home, I've got about 45 in my living room right now and I'm starting to wonder if I need an intervention. Last week I found myself Googling if it's normal to sleep with a humidifier running just for the plants. My dining table has been taken over by propagation jars, and I haven't had a real meal there in months. Honestly though, I think anyone who says they've never hit that "help I can't stop" phase with houseplants is lying.

Does your partner get that look in their eye when they step over a watering can like I've seen mine do? I hit 47 last month and I swear my living room has turned into a greenhouse with a couch shoved in the corner. The humidifier thing is real, I've got one running right now because my calatheas were throwing a fit. At least you're not the only one using propagation jars as a centerpiece, I've got mason jars on the coffee table and I don't even drink coffee there anymore. Parker's got it right honestly, I'm not sure if I'm growing plants or if they're growing me at this point.
