Debate: should you let moss take over your lawn or fight it with chemicals?
I let moss spread across my whole backyard in Portland last spring and it looks amazing and stays green without watering, but my neighbor swears I'm just inviting slugs and rot, so which side is actually right?

My buddy Matt in Seattle tried the moss takeover thing and his backyard turned into a total slug festival. He had to go out every night with a headlamp and a bucket of salt water to pick them off the patio. The moss looked beautiful though, like a velvet carpet, but then it started creeping up the side of his shed and rotting the wood. He ended up having to rip it all out and reseed with grass, said it was way more work than just spraying the lawn.

Oh man, that is exactly what happened to me. I went full moss mode in my backyard two summers ago, it looked incredible for about three months. But then the slugs started showing up like I was running a bed and breakfast for them. They got everywhere, on the patio, on the siding, even found a few on my front porch somehow. And the rot thing is no joke, I had to replace the bottom two feet of my fence where the moss just held moisture against the wood. I ended up scraping the whole thing off and going back to grass, and it was way more hassle than just hitting the lawn with some moss killer once a year. Did you end up going with chemicals or something else to get rid of yours?
