Chatted with an old gardener at the farmers market last Saturday
I was buying some basil starts and this guy in his 70s told me I should let my herbs flower before picking them. Said the bees need it more than my pasta sauce does. It hit different because I never thought about gardening from the bug's point of view, you know? Has anyone else had a random conversation that totally shifted how you treat your plants?

My basil always ends up looking like I gave it a haircut with a blindfold on, so maybe the bees are doing me a favor by showing up. At this point my garden is basically a bug buffet with a few sad tomatoes on the side.

Read bees can actually tell your tomatoes apart from the buffet, @the_kevin.

Are the bees at least eating the basil that you butchered?
