The thrift store find that saved my spine

Snagged a vintage book press at a goodwill in Phoenix for 15 bucks last weekend. Has nobody else noticed how cheap older equipment is compared to the plastic junk they sell now at craft stores? What hidden gems have you scored on a budget?

Old tools were built to last a lifetime, not end up in a landfill by next year. I found a cast iron sewing machine base for 20 bucks that I use as a desk leg now. Thrift stores are full of stuff that actually works way better than new junk.

My buddy Mike found a 1950s drill press at a garage sale that still runs like new for just 15 bucks.
