Shoutout to my old teacher who said to always use a bone folder on the first fold

I thought my steel ruler was fine for a decade, but my last project's signatures were a mess until I finally listened. Anyone have a favorite brand they swear by?

Grab a Teflon bone folder, the plastic ones can leave marks on some papers. I switched a few years back and it's been way better for getting a clean crease.

Wait, does the Teflon one ever slip on you? I've got a basic plastic one and my main complaint is it sliding around on slick paper instead of gripping.

Yeah that sliding on slick paper thing @the_jenny is exactly why I ditched my old plastic one. The Teflon folder has way more grip in my experience, it sort of grabs the paper just enough without sticking. I press down pretty hard and it hasn't slipped once, even on coated cardstock. It just feels more controlled. The plastic one always felt like it was skating away from the fold line.
