My bone folder was a paint stirrer for 3 months
Turns out my cheap plastic bone folder from that craft store in Portland was actually meant for paint cans. I kept wondering why my folds looked rough, then a friend at the bindery pointed out the handle shape. A real bone folder cost me $14 and went through the same paper like butter. Anyone else start with the wrong tool and not catch it for way too long?

Man, that's brutal. How do you not notice for three months, though? I mean, the whole handle is shaped for a paint can lip, not your hand. I'm more curious if you ever actually used it on paint at any point during that stretch, or if it just lived its whole life in your craft drawer pretending to be something it wasn't.

That's a good point about it "pretending to be something it wasn't." I bet it sat right next to the real paint opener the whole time, and the owner just grabbed whichever one was closer without ever looking.
