My $60 Linen Thread from Hollander's blew up my first project
I bought a spool of their Irish linen thread for about $60 thinking it would be top quality. Instead it kept snapping mid-stitch on a small journal I was binding. Has anyone else had issues with their thread breaking or did I just get a bad batch?

Had a $50 spool do the exact same thing, total scam.

Man I've been using Hollander's thread for years and never had that issue, but I definitely feel your frustration. It's like how you buy a fancy name brand tool from the hardware store and it strips out on the first screw you turn. There's this weird pattern I've noticed where the more expensive something is, the more likely it is to let you down because people assume the price tag means quality control is perfect. I had a roll of their 18/3 linen that snapped on me twice during a text block and I tossed it for a $8 spool of some random waxed thread I found at a local craft fair. Sometimes the cheap stuff just works better because there's no expectation of perfection. You might have gotten a bad batch though, or maybe the thread was stored in a dry place and got brittle over time.
