Bought a $55 lying press on Amazon and it warped after one week

Cheap pine frame couldn't handle the tension. Had to reinforce it with steel brackets just to get another month out of it. Anyone else tried the budget option and regretted it?

Did you try returning it or just patch it up?

Feel your pain man. I grabbed a $60 press off of a flash sale and the frame literally started bending on my second book. Had to clamp it to my workbench just to keep it square and even then the pages came out crooked. Ended up spending almost as much on hardware store brackets and bolts trying to fix it as I would have on a decent press in the first place. Cheap tools just ain't worth the headache most of the time, especially when they're supposed to handle actual pressure.
